Cbd, Essential oils, terpenes…the perfect combination

Canna rub for pain

Research is an ongoing process in the crafting of my all natural, organic Canna Rub. I dedicate long hours to comparing the quality and chemical composition of each essential oil.  Accordingly , I use only the highest grade of essential oils and Cbd when creating my unique blends.

Why the combination of Cbd and essential oils?

It’s well known that essential oils and plants have been used throughout history for pain and anxiety. Native Americans knew the uses of white willow bark long before the invention of aspirin. Archaeological evidence indicates that the use of medicinal plants dates back to the Paleolithic age, and written evidence of herbal remedies dates back over 5,000 years to the Sumerians, who compiled lists of plants. Its unquestionable, the use of plants for our health and wellbeing is not new. The earliest recorded mention of the techniques and methods used to produce essential oils is believed to be that of Ibn al-Baitar (1188–1248). Even the concept of highly concentrated forms of plants isn’t new.

Here’s a quick “Did you know?” The Pacific yew tree was the original source of the anticancer drug paclitaxel, and the common May apple was used for the treatment of tumors.

Which essential oil is best for what?

Essential oils are being researched around the world for their anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, and anti-microbial properties. Likewise, the uses of essential oils for anxiety and insomnia are being studied. Some hospitals today use essential oil aromatherapy for post-operative care.

The use of gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has opened the field even wider to help spotlight the active ingredients particular to each plant. Terpenes (aromatic organic hydrocarbons) being the main component of essential oils, provide the therapeutic benefits which we use them for today. All essential oils have different chemotypes. The different species of each plant and where they are grown… it all makes a difference. As an example, Basil has between 50 to 150 different species alone! Confused yet? I was…

Why research is important!

his is where dedicated research comes in. Each essential oil I choose comes with a full GC-MS report. My primary supplier is Aromatics International. Not only do they ensure the highest quality, they are passionate about responsible sourcing. From that report, I choose the essential oils for the products I’m crafting.  My products are all natural and organic, which means I use only the top leading producers of essential oils. Calculation of the amount of each terpene in the essential oils is made for optimum use. Dermal limits are important as certain terpenes can cause dermal sensitization or irritation. Also, I take into consideration the anticoagulant properties of certain essential oils. The use of these are limited in my products.

Now…on to the Cbd! What is it and what does it do?

Did you know….Cannabidiol (CBD) is only one of over 120+ cannabinoids found in both the hemp and cannabis plants! Two of the most abundant cannabinoids are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabidiol (CBD) is the non-psychoactive component of the plant.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds produced naturally in our bodies and some plants. In humans they’re called endocannabinoids, and in plants they’re called phytocannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system is like our body’s operating system—it affects neurotransmitters that bind to receptors and impact pain, mood, appetite and sleep. Phytocannabinoids derived from plants mimic our body’s natural systems as their chemical makeup is similar to endocannabinoids. Cannabidiol (CBD) interacts with the human endocannabinoid system by encouraging the release of our own endocannabinoids.

Cbd infused essential oils add the terpenes found in cannabis and the terpenes found in essential oils . Together, Cbd and essential oils work synergistically to create the perfect combination.

Simply put…Cbd and Essential Oils work better together!

I choose my Cbd as rigorously as I do my essential oils. My isolate and distillate come attached with a full COA (certificate of analysis) showing strength and purity. I use only organically grown plants from here in United States for all my products.

Time, dedication and constant education in the uses for, and effects of, essential oils, terpenes and cannabinoids are the main stay in any quality product. Staying on top of new breakthroughs, new uses and new cautions! New insights and the addition of new researchers are making this an everyday affair! Make sure you do your own research as well…question, ask for the COA, make certain of what you’re getting!

Canna Rub is an all-natural, organic, small batch product. It’s meticulously crafted to make certain that you get the same beneficial quality you expect every time. Each batch comes with its own COA report. You can rely on Canna Rub to always be what it says it is.
